Thanks! I'd imagine similar things would happen to US-assembled drones with Malay/Chinese/etc major components. 2025-11-20 14:07:24 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: WAGISA Drone SIG FTP: https://files.edmonds.wa.us/main.html?download&weblink=507104c8d4fd03b91987edab795c98b0 2025-11-20 14:10:02 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: Yup, make your own decisions. Do or don't take the risk--it might be a better outcome than we hope. I'm erring on side of caution 2025-11-20 14:11:17 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: And don't drop any batteries on the ground!! Might not be able to get those either 2025-11-20 14:12:10 From Connor Daigle (KTOI) to Everyone: We've been looking to purchase drones for our restoration work, the price jump from DJI (and equivalent) to anything BlueUAS is eye-watering. 2025-11-20 14:12:19 From Peter Keum - KC Wastewater: Drone & GIS to Everyone: Keisha do you have that link? you shared w/ me? I figure those whos business are on the line are watching in very closely. 2025-11-20 14:17:54 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: Replying to "We've been looking to purchase drones for our rest...": Oh, absolutely! The equivalent small drones to the DJI are starting at $7k-15k, which is pretty mind blowing. Not all of them are blue and green listed either. Those are likely to be closer to $20k and higher. If anyone finds anything lower that is close in parity (and, of course, not Chinese-made), I'd love to know 2025-11-20 14:18:22 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: Replying to "We've been looking to purchase drones for our rest...": It's a joke when you see a DJI mini at Costco for like $400 2025-11-20 14:21:20 From Keisha Chinn, WSDOT to Everyone: Replying to "Has anyone received feedback from any drone vendor...": Not Advexture, but I did talk to folks at Frontier Precision who seem to be a bit on hold with DJI. They are working to get an ACSL Soten and other drones, like Skydio and Anzu Robotics. I hope to test some out with them early next year. 2025-11-20 14:25:44 From Greg Lang to Everyone: Replying to "Has anyone received feedback from any drone vendor...": That will be interesting to test and compare for sure Keisha Chinn, WSDOT:👍 2025-11-20 14:34:51 From Connor Daigle (KTOI) to Everyone: Replying to "We've been looking to purchase drones for our rest...": I've been considering a drone for any herbicide applications for invasive species, the cost of something like a DJI Tagras is ~$20k for the 52l payload versus $42k for an Aerostar 30l. The lighter payload DJIs are very inexpensive comparatively.
